I’m looking forward to attending the WeMakeTheMedia.org conference on Saturday with my friend and colleague Chris Miller. I’m expecting to learn quite a bit, connect with others in my profession and hopefully help the effort to produce more journalism in the Portland (Oregon) metropolitan area.
I’ve got one foot in the mainstream media because of my day job as the publisher of a hyper-local community newspaper located outside the metro area and the other foot in new media via an online project that I’m helping create when I’m at home in Portland.
I highly recommend that if you’re interested in journalism in Oregon, you should attend this event. And whether or not you attend, give a listen to a recent Think Out Loud on OPB-Radio where they discussed the upcoming conference and its subject matter.
